I started with a piece of white cardstock cut to 4″ x 5.25″. Then I inked the the brush stamp from the Work of Art set. I stamped 3 times without re-inking. This gives the lovely ombre effect. Then using black ink, I used the Watercolor Thank You Stamp for the sentiment in the corner.
Next I cut a piece of cardstock to 5.5″ x 8.5″. For my samples, I used the 2014 Stampin Up In Colors – Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and Mossy Meadow. I scored each piece of cardstock at 4.25″ and then folded it in half for my card base. So each card base should be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then I used adhesive to stick the white stamped piece to the cardstock base.
Using the same color cardstock as the card base, I punched 3 flowers using the Petite Petals Punch. I added Stampin Dimensionals to the back of each flower to make them pop off the card.
To finish up the card, I added small coordinating buttons to the center of the flowers using mini glue dots.
This card tutorial is really just a template. By changing colors, embellishments, or the sentiment stamp, you can easily change things up to suit your tastes and needs.
I used a variety of flower centers – small buttons, rhinestones, pearls, and even glitter paper circles. Whatever you add, it adds a nice little bit of bling to the cards.
